I’m a sucker for crazy new Japanese toys, that’s just something I have to accept. Take these Hop Pops. All they do is sit on your computer and bob their heads up and down to the sounds in their environment. I know what you’re thinking… “Borrrrrrrrrrrrring.” But think about how fun that’d be! You’re sitting at your desk, all stressed out, having an arguement with a coworker, and you look over and your little monkey Hop Pop is bobbing up and down to your words. How could you stay mad? And imagine if you had a desk full of these things? It’d be a Hop Pop army at your command! Or not. Anyway, I like them.

Of all the USB gadget we’ve posted at GiftZen, this is by far the most useful – AA batteries that get recharged via USB. You can get rid of your regular alkaline batteries, rechargeable batteries, and the clunky battery charger. This is a great idea!

For the person that wants to catalog all their belongings, the Mini Barcode Scanner is a godsend. Battery powered (with a neck lanyard), you can take the Mini Barcode Scanner throughout your whole house and scan in up to 150 items. At that point you need to return to your computer and upload all the data to whatever program you’re using to keep track of your life. It sounds like a pain, but it’s easier than entering all that information by hand!
