Ikea Slabang Clock

Slabang ClockThis is the first Ikea product I’ve ever featured on the site.  Most Ikea products are a little generic, but this one is different.  It seems like a regular alarm clock, but it has a few key upgrades that I like.  For once thing, the clock is wrapped in yellow rubber, so you can whack it pretty hard in the morning hitting the snooze button and not worry about damaging the clock (or your fist).  Secondly, the Slabang doesn’t illuminate until you hit the snooze – no more overly bright numbers keeping you up at night.  But the best part is the alarm – you can record up to seven seconds of whatever you want, and that’ll be your wakeup music!  How cool is that!

Open Edition Clock – Your clock, your way

Open Edition ClockThe Open Edition Clock for sale at MoMAstore is exactly like a regular clock with and alarm, snooze function, and battery or A/C power.  What makes it different (and cool) is that you can arrange or stack it any way you want – vertically, horizontally, in a cube, or whatever.  It makes a great gift for the geek on your list!

Vibrating Alarm Clock

Vibrating Alarm ClockThis alarm has two ways of waking you: First, it has an adjustable volume alarm that goes up to 113 decibels!  For reference, a jackhammer it about 100 decibels.  The second waking mechanism of the clock is (as the it’s name suggests) a powerful bed vibrator.  For a little fun, you can always shut off the audible alarm and just let the bed shake away…  Heck, this would make a pretty good Valentine’s Day gift!

PowerSquid Calamari

PowerSquid CalamariOne of my favorite tech gadgets, the PowerSquid has been upgraded with the new Calamari.  Just like the regular PowerSquid, the Calamari offers flexible plugs for your electrical needs.  The Calamari offers a surge protector, an audible alarm system, electronic and radio noise filters, and phone and coaxial surge protectors.  Two of the plugs are lit with blue LEDs, too.  These are a must-have!
